It may well not be a bug but it's not the right place to keep these variables in sync. Because there is no such thing as a text-based config like on a Juniper or a Cisco a lot of users are resorting to changing the variables.
A lot of users are upgrading a lot and can this way give you a lot of feedback (a dev's wet dream). They don't want to use the webbrowser every time to config their router over and over again.
I'm sure you don't either.
Please enlighten us why it is doing this and why they still can contain different values..... http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=44324&start=120

wl_ are more or less obsolete, and were used for GUI, wl0_ and wl1_ are used for driver. Due to different radio caps in different routers NEVER use and wl_ or wl0_ or wl1_ in your "backup".... Also diff routers use diff interfaces for wan, lan...
Backup from one router is simply NOT compatible to use on another make/model. It might work, but you're playing with fire.

ok... Now I know... So, it's best to ignore these wl_ variables...
Is this trick being used somewhere else?
I already took care of those interfaces and I'm not backing up these.... Next to that script you're seeing there's a file in which the variables are that have to be excluded.

no bug
