disable cron but leave ssh running when flashing firmware

You recently changed the "write" command so it stops some services freeing up resources. This is a good thing, although stopping the ssh-service means you are cutting my lifeline to my device. You gave me the alternative to use "mtd write <firm> linux" instead of "write <firm> linux", but I think I'll be missing out on some checks (CRC-check?). Can you confirm or deny this?
Could you please leave SSH running but stop a service like cron which may do all kind of things which may get in the way?
