In the new Build of Eko 12230 on WRT54G v4 The problem still exists.

Trying to use client mode with WPA2 Tipk+AES To get the router to connect and grab a IP address you First. Have to Apply in Client mode then Reboot router, Then Switch to Client Bridge Mode Apply, then Reboot router. Then you can reselect Client mode and apply, This time the router now connects up correct and gets a IP address. This seems present in all builds above 12533.

Simi Annoying to have to do.

Have tried 30-30-30 reset multiple times does not fix it flashing back to anything before 12533 Fix's the issue.
