On units with with plenty of free ram such as say the wrt310n running a standard build this issues would have much less impact and take much longer before the router functions are impaired.

On dual band models such as the wr400n where there is much less free ram to begin with this issues is seen only after a few days.

That said the latest build performs solidly in other respects on the wrt300n/wrt310n and wr400n.
Wireless performance is solid and router is stable.
