Description
When i enable JFFS on Fon "Megarelease" the Redboot "fconfig -l -n" looks like that:
RedBoot> fconfig -l -n boot_script: false bootp: true bootp_server_ip: 0.0.0.0 console_baud_rate: 9600 gdb_port: 9000 info_console_force: false net_debug: false RedBoot>
before activate JFFS i can see in Redboot this:
fconfig -l -n boot_script: true boot_script_data: .. fis load -l linux .. exec
boot_script_timeout: 15 bootp: true bootp_server_ip: 0.0.0.0 console_baud_rate: 9600 gdb_port: 9000 info_console_force: false net_debug: false

That means that enabling JFFS deletes the Redboot configuration! It is necessary to use a serial cable to rewrite the configuration because it is not possible to access Redboot through th Ethernet since the paramenter are not there anymore. It seems a pretty big bug!

I also experienced this problem, though I don't think our symptoms match entirely. Even some of the serial console output was garbled for me, indicating that more than just the redboot config was corrupted. It requires serial to recover which for some would be asking too much. To buy the needed adapter cable to access serial costs more than the Fonera itself if bought through an invite for $5+ so it is absurd to need it. Definitely a critical problem given that enabling JFFS2, and therefore bricking, is so easy to do in the web interface. This problem is real, stop closing it.
