DHCP - DNS Servers not sent

Reported by: bucker Owned by:
Keywords: DHCP DNS Cc:

Description

On the Settings>Basic Setup screen there is an option to set up to 3 DNS servers for use by DHCP clients.

None of these servers are actually sent.

DHCP Clients are only sent the IP of the router as a single DNS server.

In my testing I entered 10.0.0.5 into DNS1, DNS2 and DNS3. All DHCP Clients are using the router address 10.0.0.1 after restarting both router and client.

This is the first time I have tried to set another DNS server so unknown when this issue began.

Netgear R7000 on R30700M.

they are using them, the router is also a dns server itself by default & u didnt disable that option. this provides a dns server for ur lan where google dns etc on the internet cant resolve stuff in ur lan. so u see the router as the dns, but the dns the router -> internet is using is the ones u specified, can verify this by looking at dnsmasq config files or doing dns server checks online

uncheck use dnsmasq for dns, then disable local dns in the services tab.
