replaced with spaces as some have done, it still doesnt work.. iphone doesnt connect, pc doesnt connect regardless if from wan or lan (l2tp)

ports 500 & 4500 (both) are already forwarded to router ip. already rebooted it, remade config 3 times, password & secret & username are right..

I don't know if this is related, but when tried to create "guest wifi" I noticed that my clients cant't get IP from dhcp... noticed that DNSMasq configuration file had those corrupted simbols like on tatsuya46 example for softether...

the spam inserted into the config is fixed, but the vpn server still doesnt work from wan OR lan... r31833

isnt there any other vpn options supporting l2tp etc that are just simple to setup like ddwrt's pptp server..? i only want this cause ios 10 has no pptp support.

IF you are trying to use L2TP with Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) enabled it will fail ever time. Must disable UPnP. Thats most peoples mistake.

It would be a great if the VPN Service page noted in the help section that Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) must be disabled for Softether L2TP to work properly.

it is not upnp, it was the guide failing to mention the burried secure nat settings
