easy. so your desktop has no qca qam256 compatible support. broadcom turbo qam uses vendor specific ie extensions and cannot handle qca radios with qam256

r31466 may help

i tested it on a r7800 with a realtek ac usb stick. it worked for qam256 using the latest build

no change on r31468+. when qam256 is on & u do a site survey from another qca router, 2.4ghz is detected as ac 1733 vht80sgi which is impossible, this could be why its trying to force 80mhz on 2.4ghz. on stock fw i can enable qam256 & all devices still connect even if they dont support it.

it is also appearing in beacon info, VHT Transmit Power Envelope, Local Maximum Transmit Power For 80 MHz: 30 dBm, etc.

i see ur latest build has proper vht40 only data in beacon info not vht80 for 2.4ghz but is still not working. i think something is shit here, i will try with different broadcom windows drivers.. & let u know

ive tried all available windows drivers for bcm4360 none work. i have "QAM256" option of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 none work. on stock netgear fw i can enable turbo qam & all devices work even if they dont support it.

what realtek ac usb stick are u using?>

on r7800 kong build it works like it should with my bcm4360. on bs builds it completely kills the radio to all clients..

Remains broken in r31786 with EA8500. Broadcast but no clients can connect.
