Description
I´m using WinXP. When i enable the SSDP-service in windows , the upnp daemon crashes in the router, this happens every 15-20 minutes. I have to restart the router then. I have to disable this service in windows or close the upnp ports in the windows firewall to prevent this. All is running fine , when XP has no upnp connect to the router. With windows vista all is running fine.

Yes, i`m getting the stats until the daemon crashes. When the stats vanishing in xp , it loses the connetion to the router. The daemon only crashes when the stats in xp are there. Sometimes the stats are not coming up when xp starts. Then the daemon never crashes. But when i examine the status page of the router, i can see the free ram is going down to 300kb. 5 minutes later the daemon crashes and about 4500kb are free. The upnp never comes up again. Normaly my routers free ram is about 600kb. Going up down a little when more connections are needed. I think the upnp daemon is not compatible with the UPNP-client in WinXP. Or has a minor bug. Or can this be handled by changing something in the firmware ?

The active stats window in WINXP is crashing the upnp in the router. We have discussed this in this thread: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=49563&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
Not all routers are affected. We have found out the folowing affected router models:
ASUS WL500G has a 4710 Chip. (16mb ram) Netgear WNR834Bv2 has a Broadcom BCM4704 chip rev 9. (16mb ram) WRT300N v1.0 has also a Broadcom BCM4704 chip rev 9. (32mb ram) Perhabs it has something to do with these chips.
Many connections come in when the stats windows in XP is open. There is somthing like a memory leak.

The bug is still present in EKO 12030 and BS 12033.

- Resolution set to fixed
- Status changed from new to closed
Fixed with svn12298.
Thanks to all !

I can confirm. It does have problem on XP. Working ok on vista. My suspition are that in winxp there is a place you can see details about the upnp stats. most of the start are not availlable while normally are. stats like recive bytes / sent bytes from the gateway, conection speed.
